Some in the Garden photos

Thought I would post some photos of my yard especially after a horrific storm that went through a few weeks ago, which cracked this wonderful tree that was in my back yard.

 

 But here is some pretty shots of my yard - below is my Lamb Ears, which I love they sit below my Crepe Myrtle tree and keeping them company are the turtles that I picked up in Jeckyll Island.

 Here is a little miniature rose bush that I planted in a sweet little hippo container, this little rose bush just loves it here.

Olympic finishes and cat photos

Now wasn't the Olympics just a wonderful venue for sitting and stitching!!!  I love to watch the Olympics both the summer and the winter games.  I do not like all the events but there is enough on the television on the various channels that you are bound to find some event you like.

Fair Charlotte is stitched - this is a workshop and design by Sherri Jones of Patrick Woods.  Now all I have to do is do the finishing!

 I finally sat down and finished the necklace that I did as a 'pilot' class with Marie Campbell.  I still have to finish the embellished loop that hangs on the necklace.  Another time.

So I just love hanging around grocery bags!!!

 Now these two are not the buddies that they are portraying here.  Mars has no idea that Jasimine is laying beside him!!  Mars is out cold!

There is something to be said about dirty laundry - oh so comfy!!

For the rest of this month I will be working on Lounging Hare - another of Sherri Jones's pieces, this will be stitched while watching the Paralympics.  Goal is have this piece stitched by the end of the month.

Also, will try to work a bit on Quaker Christmas now that I have found the threads!!!

Oh My Goodness, I found my Threads!!!

While looking for threads for an other project, I found my threads for Quaker Christmas!!!  I am so excited - these threads have been lost forever and I didn't want to buy more since I knew I had several skeins of Balsam Fir around here somewhere.  I think I may actually finish this project before Christmas this year.  This is such a relief - I actually feel my MOJO perking up and wanting to work diligently on all of my stitching projects.  Whooo Hoooo I am just so jazzed!!!

Sorry for being so crazy, but I am just beside myself.

Well, off to stitch something else that needs to be done and in the mail sometime next week!!!
It's an exchange piece.

Where does the time go!!??

Ever since we moved the computer upstairs, it seems that I do not use it as much.  We still have my husband's computer downstairs in his office and I do jump on that to see e-mails, but my computer is now upstairs and it contains all my photos and info.  So unless I head up the stairs my blogging just seems to not happen.  I am going to try to be much better with the getting up the stairs to the computer.

Meanwhile, I have finished Sanctuary!!! all the stitching is done other than the hemstitching which I will do when the frame and foam core come in -- yes, I have already ordered the frame, hopefully it will be in this coming week!!

 Below is a workshop piece from Sherri Jones of Patrick's Woods.  I have finished the stitching of  "Fair Charlotte's Souvenir Purse" and I am now working on the accessories.

Now let me tell you how both of these piece came to be stitched.  A group of stitching friend formed a SAL on Facebook to stitch while watching the Tour de France.  It was great fun and even though I have watch the tour in previous years it was never a constant thing.  This year I watched every day and usually sat through the entire TV commentary of it.  I learned so much about cycling and the tour.  It was great fun and it keep me totally on track for getting these two pieces stitched.

Do you know that now that the Olympics are underway starting tonight with the opening ceremonies, we are again doing an Olympic SAL. 

We named what we will be stitching on and if you finish during the Olympic time span - you will received GOLD!!!  (have no idea where the gold will come from, but what great fun and a wonderful way to get things stitched)

Now the only problem with some of these event  such as gymnastics - you actually have to watch the TV!!! hummm this could be challenging!

My, My where does time go!!

This is a quick post since I haven't downloaded any pictures to the computer yet!!

Still cannot find my threads for Quaker Christmas, but I did find a stitched Penny Doll that I could not find and also found my thimble with my Frozen Charlotte waxer.

I did finsh Garden Gate, by Shepherd Bush which was the replacement for the June finish and I am almost done with Sanctuary - it just seems like it takes forever to get the borders done.

Today I will put stitching aside and will make my new kitchen curtain after I water my plants.  It is going to be in the 3 digits today!!!!  HOT!!!

Will try to get some downloading done this weekend - have a good one all - thanks for visiting.

Where oh Where did my threads go??!!

I pulled out Quaker Christmas to finish the stitching - my goal to have it done by the end of June!!  Well, the threads were not in the baggie with the pattern and the fabric! so neadless to say I started pulling apart my new sewing area/studio in a frantic search, but to no avail.  So the replacement piece is Garden Gate by Shepherd Bush.  This piece was started as a round robin many years ago and I never finished it due to a mistake that was done on it, but it is out now and heading toward the finish line.  I am still searching for my QC threads, hoping to find them soon, would love to get that finished.

Last weekend DH, Terry and I headed to Jekyll Island, GA.  Terry had a conference there for 3 days so I tagged along for a little R&R.  I did a bit of stitching, but I actually read most of the time.  Pope Joan was the book - it is for my book club discussion group.

Now just FYI, I do not do bridges very well, as a matter of fact if I know there is a bridge on a trip, I plan, yes!!! I plan when I drive and when someone else will drive - The feeling I get when going onto a bridge is just like having an out of body experience - it is very frightening for me!  Does anyone else have problems going over bridges????

Anyway, there were two bridges we had to cross to get to the island.

It was a wonderful, quiet, and beautiful time away, I guess I just needed some down time.

Next weekend is anothr conference for Terry - this time it is in Savannah, GA.

Deadline not met!!!

Well I did try to get Sanctuary finished by May 31st, but as you can see I still have a ways to go.  I am working on the written border and the Rapid stitch borders at the same time while I am in the same area.

OOPs I just noticed that I hadn't finished the one section of trees at the bottom!! Oh Dear!!

So for June, my plan is to have Sanctuary done and to have the last page of Quaker Christmas done.  I have no idea why I had put QC down!! I was almost done!

Heading off to Jekyll Island this weekend with DH, Terry.  He has a seminar to attend and I am going along for the ride and for some quiet time to walk the beach, read, stitch and perhaps shop!!
